Kathy Lette & Rob Adams
Class Acts: Episode 01
Shortly before bursting onto the literary scene at the age of 17 with the cult classic novel Puberty Blues, Kathy Lette was a student at Sylvania High, where her unsuspecting English teacher was Rob Adams.
At a different high school, “Mr Adams” also taught Euahleyai / Gamillaroi woman Larissa Behrendt AO … now an award winning author and filmmaker, and also Distinguished Professor at UTS Sydney’s Jumbunna Institute for Indigenous Education.
In the Class Acts pilot, Kathy Lette and Larissa Behrendt see their former English teacher for the first time in decades and express gratitude for his inspirational work.
“I don’t think I’ve had an experience as rewarding as this for a long time. I won’t forget this.”
Rob Adams, Teacher
It's wonderful to be able to go back to a teacher and say, “Actually, you made a huge difference in my life.”
Larissa Behrendt
