Jennifer Robinson & Lindy Fitzpatrick
Class Acts: Episode 05
Jennifer Robinson is a globally known and respected barrister who has been described as the “the leading human rights lawyer of her generation”.
On the ABC’s Australian Story Jen explained how travelling to Indonesia, and becoming aware of the movement for an independent West Papua, changed her life forever.
The seeds for that trip were planted at Bomaderry High School, just north of the Shoalhaven River on the NSW South Coast. At Bomaderry High, Jen was taught Indonesian by Linda Fitzgerald. Jen also went to Indonesia for the very first time on a school trip organised by Lindy.
Lindy Fitzgerald is “the type of teacher all teachers aspire to be” (NSW Awards for Excellence in Education, 1990).
In this episode of Class Acts, Jen reunites with Lindy to thank her for the life-changing experiences that public education made possible.
“It was amazing to see Jen … actually seeing her and just reconnecting with her brought back a flood of wonderful memories.”
